Rajasthan University Increases 10% Seat Intake in UG & PG Courses
- Rajasthan University has increased the seat intake by 10% in UG & PG courses after various protests by students and student union.
- The increase in seat intake will be applicable to all the courses accept law and management from 2018 academic year.
Rajasthan University is planning to increase 10% seats in undergraduate, postgraduate and self-financed courses offered by the colleges affiliated to the university. The decision regarding the increase in the seat intake has been taken after Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) relentless protests.
The AVBP protested in front of the Vice- Chancellor’s office to increase the intake by 20%. However, the varsity partially accepted the plea and decided to introduce the seat intake by 10%.

The students of the Rajasthan University also played a major role in increasing the seats as they protested a lot regarding the same. The new rule of the increase seat intake will be established in all the department except in management and law as the admission procedure for these courses varies from other programmes. However, the varsity is working on the system to implement the same in law and management courses as well.
The student union is unhappy with the decision and will protest once more to increase the seat intake by 20%. ABVP President, Hushyaar Meena said that the students will protest again as they are not satisfied with such a minimal rise.

Rajasthan University is a state-level university which offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, certificate, diploma and doctoral level programmes in all the fields such as arts and humanities, social sciences, teaching, education commerce, law, mass media, IT & Software and management studies. The admission to the respective courses is on the basis of entrance exams and on the basis of merit.
