Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha May Soon Get Central University Status
Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth may soon be upgraded to a central university. According to N Gopalaswami, Chancellor, RSVP, the upgrade of the institute to central university will give a boost to Sanskrit studies.
Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, also known as RSVP is a pioneer in Sanskrit education and may soon get upgraded to a central university.
N Gopalaswami, Chancellor, RSVP informed that HRD Ministry is considering the proposal to upgrade the varsity into a Central University. This move will help boost the Sanskrit studies and interested students will benefit from the same. It will also bring a positive change for Sanskrit researchers, students, Sanskrit scholars and for all the Sanskrit lovers.
He further informed that university has been granted Rs.1.18 crore for the digitisation of the palm leaves manuscripts. The grant will also help in editing the manuscripts and making them a part of Ramanuja Millennium Year Celebrations.

Utmost importance will be given to the editing of the palm leaf manuscripts so that they can be converted into a book and further research can be done on the same.

Meanwhile, the university has also set up the RO plant as a part of improving the facilities on the campus. The total cost of the RO plant is Rs.14.5 lakh. It will provide safe drinking water to the students and staff who are a part of the campus. It will also include student hostels and staff quarters in the campus.
Many institutes and central universities across the country are offering short-term and certificate courses in the Sanskrit language as a part of the initiative to revive the Sanskrit language.
