REET Exam 2018 in February: 10 Lakh Plus Candidates Register
- Over 10 lakh candidates are competing for 35,000 third-grade teaching posts through REET 2018.
- RBSE will conduct REET 2018 exam in 2,600 centres across the state.
Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) will be conducting REET (Rajasthan Eligibility Exam for Teachers) 2018 on February 11, 2018. The registration process for REET 2018 has already been closed, and over 10 lakh candidates applied for the exam. Qualifying REET 2018 is mandatory for the post of third-grade teachers in government schools across the state. At present, 35,000 third grade teaching posts are vacant in government-run schools. RBSE will conduct REET 2018 exam in 2,600 centres across the state.

The eligibility in REET exam will help the candidates avoid interview for primary and upper primary teaching posts. REET exam was launched in 2016. Over 9 lakh candidates appeared for the exam in its initial year, and 15,000 of them secured jobs.
REET 2018 will be conducted in two sessions. The first session of the exam is for teachers applied for teaching posts from Class I to Class V. The second session of the exam is for Classes VI to VIII. This year, there is a heavy competition for the state-level teacher recruitment test. The state government is taking all the steps to ensure smooth conduct of the exam. Mobile jammers will be installed in all the exam centres.

The state government issues strict rules for the examination. Flying squads have been appointed to inspect the exam centres. On the other hand, the control room will be active at RBSE headquarters during the examination.
The state government has not yet declared the cut-off mark for primary teachers. The cut-off mark for RBSE 2016 exam went up to 48.8%.
