REET i.e. Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher exam validity has been extended by the Rajasthan government recently. Previously, the validity period for the REET score was three years, and after that candidates were required to again appear in the exam. The validity of the score has been changed to lifetime which means that from now onwards candidates do not have to appear again for the examination after clearing it once.
“A meeting of the state cabinet was held on Saturday at the Chief Minister’s residence under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. In the meeting, the cabinet decided that the validity of the Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test ‘REET’ in the state will now be lifelong,” the CMO Rajasthan tweeted.
As for now, no official notification has been issued by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) on the extension of the REET validity. Nevertheless, REET will be soon releasing an official update related to the same.
With the remarkable change, candidates will be highly benefited as now they don’t have to repeatedly appear in the REET. With this initiative, it is expected that the employment opportunities for the candidates having cleared REET and now looking for teaching jobs will also increase.
Earlier, CBSE has also made changes in the validity period of the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) by increasing the validity from 7 years to the lifetime with retrospective effect from the year 2011. Also in 2020, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in its 50th meeting of the general body had ratified the extension of the TET certificate validity from 7 years to a lifetime.
