Rs. 200 Crore Funds for Government-Aided and Technical Institutes Affiliated to AKTU: Yogi Adityanath
- Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath laid foundation stones and inaugurated 101 projects to boost technical education in the state on August 8, 2017.
- The government took the decision to establish placement cells in ten government polytechnic colleges.
Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath laid foundation stones and inaugurated 101 projects to boost technical education in the state on August 8, 2017. The grand inaugural ceremony took place at an event at Indira Gandhi Pratisthan, Lucknow. On this occasion, the honourable CM launched ‘Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gunvatta Sudhaar Yojana’. As a part of this scheme, the government of Uttar Pradesh distributed Rs. 200 crore among the technical institutes affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, as well as other government aided colleges. The funds will help in the development of colleges and will improve the quality of technical education across the state.

On this occasion, Yogi Adityanath signed two MoUs. The details of MOUs are elaborated below: -
- A MoU has been signed between a Japanese University and Madan Mohan Malviya Technical University to facilitate student exchange programme between the two institutes.
- Another MoU has been signed between Harcourt Butler University and Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur for the installation of Design Innovation Centre.

Major Initiatives Launched/ Undertaken by UP Government to Boost Technical Education: -
- During the event, the CM also launched ‘Best Practices Portal’, which prepares a database of workshops, projects, seminars, books and published research papers to improve technical education.
- The government took the decision to establish placement cells in ten government polytechnic colleges.
- A total number of 13 best proposals under ‘Visveswaraya Research promotion Scheme’ were given recommendation letters for a grant of Rs. 5 lakh.
During the event, Yogi Adityanath spoke about the importance of technology for development. He indicated that the state government had taken various steps to boost technical education in the state which will, in turn, lead to the development of technology.
