Scrap English & References that Insult India: RSS to HRD Ministry
RSS affiliated-Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) has requested the ministry to take these recommendations into consideration while formulating the New Education Policy.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has requested Ministry of Human Resource and Development to scrap English references in higher education that insult Indian tradition, culture, thoughts, eminent personalities, sects and offer wrong explanations.
RSS has requested that all these explanations must be removed from the textbooks at all levels. It also mentioned that foreign languages should not be offered at the school level as an alternative to any Indian language. English should not be made mandatory at any level.

RSS has also stated that all research works must be linked to “national requirements”. RSS affiliated-Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas (SSUN) has requested the ministry to take these recommendations into consideration while formulating the New Education Policy.
The members of SSUN have met HRD Minister and submitted their list of recommendations. The ministry has sent an e-mail to SSUN on October 14, 2016, stating that all the recommendations have been noted down and will be discussed during the formulation of New Education Policy.

SSUN has also demanded English must be replaced by Indian languages at all levels of education. It has requested the government to implement education in Indian languages at premier institutions like IITs, IIMs and NITs. One of the members of SSUN said that the government must take legal action against those schools which prevent students from speaking in their mother tongue.
