Rural Management Curriculum Launched for UG, PG Students in Sikkim
A rural management curriculum has been launched at the undergraduate and postgraduate level in Sikkim. The official launch of the curriculum was on 29th January, 2020.
A rural management curriculum has been launched at the undergraduate and postgraduate level for the students in Sikkim, officials said. The curriculum for the same has been developed in collaboration with the Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE) under the Union ministry of human resource development. The official launch of the curriculum was on 29th January 2020 by Kunga Nima Lepcha, the Sikkim Education Minister. Lepcha conveyed thanks to the MGNCRE for coming up with a curriculum which is innovative in nature and is likely to benefit students. The rural management curriculum has a BBA/MBA course focused on promoting rural studies and rural management for the development of sustainable rural livelihoods according to Dr. WG Prasanna Kumar, the chairman of MGNCRE.

The course’s objective is to equip the rural youth with management skills. Also, the curriculum has been planned in accordance with some of the best institutes in India. This will bring about a shift in understanding the rural regions not just as consumers but also as producers and contributors to the economy.

An MBA In Rural Management helps students with taking up challenging responsibilities in the rural and developmental organisations. The core areas of MBA in Rural Management covers Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Rural Marketing, Rural Society and Polity etc.

The objective of rural managers is to contribute towards the betterment of different sections of the society and promote eco-friendly development of the villagers through professional management of their institutions.
