Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) to Rank Colleges as per NAAC Norms
Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) will now rate colleges as per the rules set by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). SPPU’s Vice-Chancellor, Dr. N S Umarani said both academic and administrative capability of the colleges will be considered for rating.
To improve the quality of education offered by the colleges affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), the university has now planned to rate colleges as per the rules set by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). This decision was taken to encourage colleges to undergo a NAAC committee inspection.
Though the UGC has always issued directives for all the affiliated colleges of various universities to get NAAC accreditation, many colleges have still not gone through the NAAC accreditation process. SPPU is now rating colleges in a similar fashion as NAAC. It will consider the same parameters and motivate colleges to undertake a NAAC inspection and improve their ranking.
