SC to Hear Plea on Feburuary 23 against Cancellation of Offline Exams for 10th, 12th Students of CBSE

The Supreme Court has declared that the hearing on CBSE board exams 2022 will be done tomorrow, i.e., February 23, 2022. The petition to cancel & alternative assessment of Board Exams 2022 has been presented in front of the Supreme Court on February 22, 2022. During the petition presentation, J Khanwilkar has stated that the hearing regarding board exams will be done tomorrow. The counsel has been asked to serve an advance copy to CBSE and other concerned respondents. All state boards will represent respondents in the case. The petition overviews the cancellation of physical exams by boards or adopting alternative assessment criteria for evaluation.

Supreme Court has declared that the hearing will only be done for the CBSE Term 2 board exams and no other boards. The court has asked the petitioners to serve an advance copy of the petition to CBSE only. This means the decision will be taken only for CBSE board exams and no other board exams.

The students have been requesting Supreme Court to make justice in their favour through the Twitter platform. Over 100k tweets have been received from the students over Twitter targeting the #internalassessmentforall2022 hashtag. The plea was filed by the Students through a Google Form which was filed as Petition by Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, who is an advocate and child rights activist, along with the Student Union of Odisha-NYCS as the second petitioner.

The students are hoping that even if the offline exams are not cancelled, the objective-type questions must be adopted for exams with no subjective questions. The plea will also be concentrated on the declaration of board exams and other exams without any delay. There has been a constant delay in the declaration of results which is causing delays for students in going for their higher education. This has also taken a toll on the mental health of students.
