SCERT under Government of India Launches Software to Develop Teachers’ Skills
Through this software, the training will be imparted to teachers in various phases.
With an objective to sharpen the skills of the teachers and develop their proficiency in the subject, the State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT) launched a software which has been named as ‘Online in-service teacher capacity building programme’ o December 20, 2016.
Through this software, the training will be imparted to teachers in various phases. In the first phase, a total number of 70 mentor teachers and 50 mathematics teachers who have been working in various schools that come under Directorate of Education will be trained. Through this programme, the teachers will have a chance to get topic-based training which is very useful. The topics that are being taught as a part of this programme are taken from textbooks. The main objective of the programme is to train 50,000 teachers.

Punya Salila Srivastava, Education Secretary, revealed that the training programme is flexible, unique and convenient. The main aim is to develop competency, knowledge and efficiency of the teachers and make them inculcate holistic approach among students. On the other hand, the teachers must also play a significant role in sharpening the students in critical subjects.
The outcome of the programme is to enable student-centred teaching approaches. For this purpose, teacher to teacher communication is necessary.

The teachers will have to attend an online training which will be given for eight hours in a single sitting. The training will be given as per the convenience of trainees. The teachers can also spend a half an hour a day (15 sittings) on the mobile app or the web. It will only ensure the quality education and teachers have to take part in the training programme actively.
