Scholarships Offered by Turkey Universities Attract Indian Students
One of the central universities in India, Jamila Millia Islamia is going to confer Degree of Letters (Honoris Causa) to President of Turkey.
The scholarships offered by Turkey universities are gaining popularity among the Indian students in the recent years. So far, Turkey universities offered more than a hundred scholarships to Indian students. Since 2012, most of the universities have been wooing the Indian students with its scholarship schemes, and there is a good academic cooperation between India and Turkey. The visit of Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey to India will further boost the academic ties between the two countries.
One of the central universities in India, Jamila Millia Islamia is going to confer Degree of Letters (Honoris Causa) on President of Turkey. In a recent meeting, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan indicated that Turkey would embrace students from various countries and offer scholarships.

The government of Turkey launched an initiative called ‘Turkiye Scholarships’. It is a government-funded scheme for international students. Students from various parts of the country who wish to study in Turkey can apply for this scholarship scheme. The government launched this initiative to enhance cooperation with various countries in the field of higher education as well as culture.
The Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities supervise the Turkiye Scholarships scheme. Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Turkey will also hold the responsibility of the scholarship scheme. The ministry is also a part of International Students Evaluation Board.

The Presidency of Turks Abroad and Related Communities received 1,22,000 applications from 175 countries for scholarship scheme in 2016. Turkey is also facilitating student exchange between various countries and taking steps towards strengthening academic collaboration.
