Selection & Counselling Procedure for TANCET M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan Courses

TANCET is an entrance examination that is being carried out for the admission to various M.Tech courses.

Selection Procedure: -

The conducting authority of TANCET prepares three merit lists. They are: -

• GATE Category Merit List
• TANCET Category Merit List
• Sponsored Category Merit List

GATE Category Merit List: - The merit list will be prepared as per the marks secured by the candidates in GATE examination. There is a separate cut-off list for GATE Category merit list. 70:30 marks formula is being followed while preparing merit list. 70 marks are allocated to GATE and 30 marks for TANCET.

TANCET Category Merit List: - The merit list will be prepared as per the candidates performance in TANCET examination. There is a separate cut-off list for TANCET Category list.

Sponsored Category Merit List: - This merit list is applicable for those who are being sponsored by various government organisations. These candidates will get admission only in Anna University.

Counselling: -

• The candidates need to register for the counselling in advance.
• The counselling for engineering course is being carried out by Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Board.
• The candidates belonging to General Category need to pay Rs. 5,300 at the time of counselling.
• The candidates belonging to SC/ST/SCA category need to pay Rs. 1,150.
