A two-day national seminar on ‘Different Aspects of Skill development in India’ was organized by the department of economics of Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU) in Ara on 30th March 2016. The seminar was held at HD Jain College. Bihar legislative council chairman Awadhesh Narain Singh inaugurated the seminar on Wednesday.
Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) located in Ara was named after a well-known freedom fighter and a national hero the legendary Veer Kunwar Singh. VKSU is a public university in the town of Arrah in the state of Bihar - India.
Addressing the gathering, Singh said India is the only country in the world where youths are in a majority and 65% of the population is below forty years. “The development of a nation depends on their welfare and hence they should be provided jobs through skill development. Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) may play a pivotal role in this regards so that the standard of living of youth may increase and they can earn more,” he said adding skill development may e in agriculture and other sectors and not necessarily in industrial areas.
It was established by the Bihar University Act 1976
VKSU is ranked amongst one of the top Universities in Bihar. The university has also earned recognition as a hub of higher learning and research in the frontier disciplines of social sciences , science, humanities etc.. The university even in the past has played a pivotal role in the generation of the rendering of knowledge and development of skill-sets.
