Coronavirus Impact : SIBM to Teach Cooking as a Life Skill to Management Students
Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM) is planning to conduct workshops/practical sessions on basic cooking for all their MBA, MBA (I&E), and MBA (L&S) students to help them during this time of coronavirus lockdown.
Due to the COVID-19 impact and the subsequent lockdown, social distancing has become a new way of life, which has made many youngsters especially the ones who stay alone, take up new life skills such as cooking. Many of them are being forced to learn cooking as there is no other option during the prevailing crisis. The ones who don’t know how to cook are taking lessons from YouTube, their friends and families. This has prompted B-schools to think of something which can help these youngsters who will be the future managers and will need different skills sets to survive. In the light of the above, Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune (SIBM) is planning to conduct workshops/practical sessions on cooking for all their MBA, MBA (I&E), and MBA (L&S) students. During the induction of the postgraduate management programme, the students will be given lessons on how to cook rice (with or without using a pressure cooker), how to make rotis, dal, a simple dry dish and a gravy dish.
