The Department of Computer Science of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala organized a two day workshop on ‘Hadoop Technology’ on 13th and 14th June
The Department of Computer Science of Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala organized a two day workshop on ‘Hadoop Technology’ on 13th and 14th June, 2016. The workshop was conducted in collaboration with BDPS Computers, Vijayawada. The director of BDPS and other members of BDPS gave an overview of the theme.
Speaking on the occasion, BDPS Director, P Harsha said, “The e-commerce sites which are into online shopping and transactions are using Hadoop technology and Bigdata to store the information”. He elaborated on the three characteristics of Hadoop Technology mainly velocity, variety and volume, which aid in managing the data efficiently and accurately. He further mentioned that “corporates like google, flipkart, and amazon are taking the help of Hadoop and Bigdata to manage their information thus getting back to their respective customers at a greater pace. Students who get trained in these technologies will nail opportunities very easily”.
As a part of two day workshop, the faculty and students of the Computer Science Department are trained in the usage of Hadoop technology. The officials of BDPS trained them and clarified the various doubts which were raised by faculty and students. The workshop concluded with valedictory session on 14-June-2016.
