SINE of IIT Bombay Finds New Home in Hiranandani, Powai
SINE currently has 28 startups blossoming under its guidance.
The Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai is the home of Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), but now it has another home in Hiranandani, Powai. The innovation centre has given life to minimum 40 startups in the last decade and has had a minimum of 80 startups under its umbrella. This change has been made as the number of startups applying to the society have increased. The innovation centre currently has 28 startups blossoming under its guidance.

The centre has decided to increase the space and has stepped into a new place as they expect the number to increase to 50-60 next year and to almost 200 in the next six years.
The Chief Executive of SINE, Milind Atrey said that the SINE, in-house, has 20 startups and other 8 are being monitored virtually. He also revealed that they are getting potential response from the following countries:
- Switzerland
- Russia
- England
- EU
- US
- Canada
- Israel

The SINE recently launched a program under which the startups from India will be given an opportunity to participate in the 2-week long accelerator program that will introduce them to Russia. Only ten startups from India will be given this chance.
The accelerator program is launched in collaboration with the Department of Science and Intel. The program will incubate 20 firms related to electronic hardware for a year, which will involve focused training and one-to-one mentorship.
