The Minister was speaking at the ceremony of a partnership agreement with the Ministry of Education of France, where French company Schneider Electric was roped in for imparting skills to Indian youth. The minister urged to reverse the system where the skilled workforce were ignored as the ones who dropped out of the education system. A trained electrician with toolkit by Schneider would be more employable than a person with a general degree. Now Government's dream is to make Indian youth as skilled as workers in Europe and America so that they can earn up to 100 dollars per hour.
The minister also mentioned the areas where India can work for skilling the youth-
- IT Sector
- Soft skills
