SPA, Vijayawada Celebrates Second Convocation
On this occasion, a total number of 72 students were awarded Bachelor of Architecture degrees and a total number of 13 students were awarded Bachelor of Planning degrees.
School of Planning and Architecture, Vijayawada celebrated the second convocation in a grand style last week. Mr. Y Satyanaranarayana Chowdary, Union Minister of State Science & Technology attended the event as the chief guest.
Addressing the students, Y Satyanarayana said that the union government had unleashed urban transformation programmes through various missions like AMRUT, HRIDAY and Smart City. He also mentioned that the architecture students must play an essential role in planning the cities as per increasing population. He stated that SPA, Vijayawada is an eye for the development of the new capital city of Andhra Pradesh.

Director of SPA, Dr. Ramesh Sikonda said that the institute had entered into a MoU with several reputed national and international institutes for students and faculty exchange programme. He stated that the students in SPA are being motivated through thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating sessions. He also mentioned that the students are actively assisting Capital Regional Development Authority (CRDA) for the construction of the new capital of the state.
