SPJIMR, JBIMS, NITIE Introduce Case Studies on Tata-Mistry Fallout in Curriculum

One of the leading management colleges in India, S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai (SPJIMR) has launched a one-month long case study of the Tata-Mistry fallout under the organisational behaviour module that it offers in its flagship programme.

The authorities and professors of the college believe that through the case-study, students will be able to:

• Understand organisational context of work.
• Factors that can influence human behaviour and performance and how different they are in comparison to the impact on individuals or groups.
• Get a lesson on the holistic approaches that should be used in order to deal with organisational challenges.

The sessions will be conducted in the form of discussions, case analysis, and other conceptual inputs.

Similarly, the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) discussed the much talked about case at business levels as a part of its strategic management course. It serves as an example to further strengthen student knowledge about what had earlier been taught to them in classrooms. Differences in opinions of business leaders despite having same values is surely a lesson to remember for future management professions, accordingly to some of the students of the institute.

NITIE or the National Institute of Industrial Engineering has also incorporated the case in their subjects such as human resources and organisational behaviour.

It cannot be denied that this case is definitely gaining popularity in terms of discussions and studies at B-schools, if not elsewhere!
