SPPU invites Fellowship Applications from PhD Students
PhD students in the 2018-19 batch at SPPU can now apply for the Bharat Ratna JRD Tata Quality Research Fellowship. 100 students from SPPU will get this scholarship if they meet the eligibility criteria. The amount of the scholarship is Rs.8000.
Ph.D. students studying in Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) who took admission in 2018-19 are eligible to apply for Bharat Ratna JRD Tata Quality Research Fellowship. 100 students from SPPU will get this scholarship if they qualify the eligibility norms.
Students will have to prepare a project progress report and those who get the fellowship should not be found studying any other course except the doctoral work. In case, it is found later that the student is the recipient of any other fellowship, he/she will be considered ineligible to continue with the Tata Quality Research Fellowship. In addition to the research process, students also need to maintain a monthly 75% attendance during the course.
The amount of the fellowship is Rs.8000 and the deserving students will get it for a maximum period of three years. Students who are interested can apply online and with the filled application, they will also need to submit their proposed research, an abstract of that. On the basis of the number of students applying for the scholarship, each department will have a fixed proportional quota.

Initially, the scholarship will be available for one year and once that time period is over, the department officials will review the work that’s been done and then they will take a call if they want to continue the scholarship or not. Students can apply on the official website of SPPU to fill the application form. Then they should take a print out of the completed application form and submit that along with a recommendation letter from the head of the department and the research guide to the Admission Department.

Apart from this, other important documents such as marks statements of Master degree, provisional /confirmation Ph.D. admission letter, a brief summary of the research topic and an undertaking on plain paper are also required.
