SRCC Likely to Introduce MBA Course Similar to IIMs

Shri Ram College of Commerce is planning to introduce an MBA course from the upcoming academic session, i.e., 2017-18. The college submitted the proposal to the administration of the Delhi University on the same. However, the varsity is yet to approve the proposal. According to courses, SRCC is taking all the possible steps to introduce the MBA course on lines of Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). The college had submitted the proposal for the intake of 65 seats.
It is not necessary for SRCC to seek approval from the University Grants Commission or UGC for launching the MBA course. The college itself will fund the course, and it does not require approval from UGC.

MBA course offered by SRCC will have four semesters, and the college will offer 18 additional courses. If SRCC gets the approval for launching MBA course, it will replace the existing PGD programme in Global Business Operations (GBO). Currently, the college is waiting for the approval.
The admission process for Global Business Operations programme is entirely different from other courses. The college completed the registration process for this programme in January 2017. According to sources, 2017-2019 might be the last batch of GBO programme.

One of the officials of SRCC revealed that the curriculum of GBO and MBA programme is very different. The college will offer the same electives and subjects as IIMs. He further added that GBO is the only diploma programme offered by the college, and the college wants to replace the GBO diploma programme with MBA degree programme.
