As per the new Ministry of Personnel data, B.Tech graduates have benefitted immensely from SSC CGL examination as the maximum number of candidates who are selected for various public sectors are Engineers. According to the data received from the Ministry, a total of 4,546 B.Tech graduates were selected in the year 2017 and in 2016, a good 5,176 B.Tech graduates were recruited by the Service Selection Commission (SSC). The final SSC CGL result of 2018 and 2019 are still awaited.

Moreover, 800 and 825 Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) graduates were also selected in the year 2017 and 2016 respectively by the SSC along with the aforementioned number of B.Tech graduates. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree and Bachelor of Arts (B.A) grabbed the second and third positions respectively in the list.

The Ministry, however, clarified that the impressive number of Engineers being selected has nothing to do with the syllabus as it offers an even playfield for all the candidates - irrespective of the streams they belong. The exam-takers are assessed on a wide range of topics like Quantitative Aptitude , English Comprehension , General Awareness , General Intelligence & Reasoning etc.
