SSPU May Conduct Re-exam in Four Colleges Due to Paper Leak
- The 2nd year B.Sc. Linear Algebra paper got leaked on 27 April 2018 when the webmail of a university employee was hacked.
- The SSPU authorities are still conducting the investigation to find out the reason and behind the paper leak.
Due to the paper leak at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Vice Chancellor Dr. Nitin Karmalkar stated that the university may conduct re-exam for about 200 students registered with four colleges.
The second-year B.Sc. Linear Algebra paper got leaked on 27 April 2018. The question paper leak took place when the webmail of a university employee was hacked. The incident took place right before the day of the exam. The same incident also took place during an engineering examination and it was when the administration decided to dispatch the question papers only before an hour so on the day of examination.

As per Dr. Karmalkar, the question papers are prepared in the press and each paper is watermarked and the soft copy is emailed to the university. The soft copy of the question paper is emailed to the test centres. The question paper leak seemed to have occurred at that point.
As of now, two students have been arrested in connection with the paper leak. In the meantime, SSPU is also conducting their own investigation regarding the same. The two students who hacked the B.Sc. papers are from an engineering background and were using different IP addresses. The purpose regarding the matter still remains ascertained.

The final decision regarding the re-exam will be taken by the Board of Examinations. The re-exam may only be conducted for students registered with Nashik sub-centre. In total there are 200 students in four colleges.
