The step has been taken to promote start-ups in India as we are the third largest contributor of start-ups in the nation. Start-Up India initiative is essential to revive the industry in India and create jobs. 10 million people find jobs every year and to utilize such a workforce, promoting potential startups is important.

Motivated by the student start-ups in the Silicon Valley, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking forward to replicate and promote Indian start-ups that offer a promising growth in the future. The aim is to groom students and encourage them to opt for entrepreneurial careers. An official in the council informed that the committee appointed by the council studied the subject closely and stated that there is need to re-orient the academic curriculum.

The institutes will be allowed to increase the flexibility of courses and students opting to start their own start-ups will be allowed to take a relaxation period for a year and can join their course again. This will help the students to complete their education.

In addition to education, this will also provide the students with early exposure to entrepreneurship and they will get a chance to interact with other young students with creative ideas. These are a few features that are not available to the students in the classroom.
