<p>The first cut-off list of DU for its undergraduate course once again touch 100 per cent marks as two colleges-College of Vocational Studies and Indraprastha College for Women have announced 100% for Computer Science (H). The announcement have left student communities in tizzy and the social networking sites are agog with the buzzword.
This year DU received 3, 20,799 applications for its 54,000 seats. Of these the number of Online and Offline application were 2, 32,049 and 88,750 respectively. BA English (Hons) emerged as the most popular course with a total of 90,331 applications. The second cut off list will be published on 30th June and whole admission process will wind up by July 27.
&ldquo; If you have scored 90% in your 12th exam then forget about admission into DU colleges. I am quite disappointed,&rdquo; said Deepak Sharma, a student hailing from Jharkhand for seat in DU.
&ldquo; What a joke. How it is possible to even score 98 or 99, 100% in any subject other than Maths, Chemistry and Physics. Even subjects like Hindi and English Language, Political Science, History etc., students are getting 98-99%. I just wonder at the marking system,&rdquo; says Rohan Mehta from Noida and an aspirant for DU.
Three colleges LSR, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharma College and Colleges of Vocational Studies have announced cut- off at 98 percent for B.Com (Hons). Followed by Ramjas College at 97.75 and SRCC at 97.37. SRCC has kept 98.25 cut-offs for Economic (Hons) followed by Hans Raj and LSR and KMC at 98%
Several colleges saw the presence of a lesser number of students in the campus on the first day of the admission.
&ldquo;Nobody is saying anything of the absurd marking system where everyone is scoring so much marks. Then either we are having very intelligent students or the marking system needs to be revamped. Well student intelligence can't be commented now but the marking system has been made a political vote bank,&rdquo; says a visitor in a social networking site.
&ldquo; My God, 100 percent cut-off! Now the whole admission process needs to be examined,&rdquo; says Nitin Upadhyaya, another admission seeker.
&ldquo;DU is not a top university of the world then why 100 percent cut-off.&rdquo; questions a student unwilling to disclose his name.
