The Delhi High Court has asked the CBSE to reconsider and apply its moderation policy while the students and parents have been eagerly waiting for the announcement of class 12th results. This decision will cause a delay in the process now. Many institutions in the country demand for intermediate scores prior to admission in graduation courses. Till now it’s not clear that when the result will be declared. Central Board of Secondary Education hasn't yet mentioned any formal announcement with regards to the results.

CBSE's spokesperson, Ms. Rama Sharma stated that they themselves are eager to know the consequences of the court's decision. Simultaneously, the admission procedure of Delhi University is ongoing and June 12 is the end date for registrations. However, many academicians feel that the order of the court has brought some relief, in a way.

Head of CBSE, said that the process to carry out such a huge alteration to the plan cannot be adjusted for a limited period of time. According to the Moderation policy, grace scores will be given to candidates basis the entire result assessment. Ms. Ameeta Mulla Wattal, Principal of Springdales Pusa Road stated that such decisions regarding the youth must be taken with a more transparent perspective. Moreover, before implementing any of the policy it is absolutely necessary to involve everyone on board.”

CBSE was further not sure about the state boards agreeing to the similar policy. It also raised its concern with the fact that CBSE students will not be able to compete for admissions at prestigious varsities such as Delhi University, where a candidate is picked on the ground of marks secured by him/her in class 12th board exams. The Central Board of Secondary Education had also asked Delhi University, to create an independent policy for its scholars so that they do not face problems during admissions. However, the urge was denied.

DU, for instance, prepares cut-off lists after evaluating applications from students across the country. In the previous few years, it has been noticed that scholars from state boards like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana easily get admission in colleges such as Hindu College and SRCC even though the cut-off reaches a whopping 100 percent.
