Students, Parents & Teachers Furious after CBSE Re-Examination Decision
- Students, parents and teachers are strongly opposing CBSE's decision to re-conduct Class 12 Economics and Class 10 Mathematics exams.
- They are seeking valid explanation from CBSE as to why paper was not canceled when the leak was identified before the exam.
CBSE’s decision to re-conduct Class 12 and Class 10 economics and mathematics exam has disappointed the students, parents and teachers to a large extent. Furious teachers and parents have been demanding CBSE to give an explanation on how mathematics paper of Class 10 and economics paper of Class 12 got leaked. Few of them pointed that there were complaints on Class 10 mathematics paper leak since Tuesday, March 20, 2018. Instead of cancelling the exam in advance, CBSE conducted the mathematics exam for Class 10 students despite rumours and complaints on question paper leak. The policy of CBSE is being severely criticised by the parents and student community.

Principal of a reputed private CBSE school pointed that CBSE had assured smooth conduct of exams this year. The officials claimed that the question papers were kept in lockers and there is no scope for leakage this year. Despite the precautions and arrangements made, the economics and mathematics question paper of Class 12 and Class 10 was leaked that left takers disappointed with CBSE that failed to conduct the exams in free and fair manner. Cancelling an exam is a mere wastage of the efforts and hard work of students, he expressed.
Another administrator of a CBSE school demanded the national education board to give an explanation on the question paper leak. The mathematics paper of Class 10 was circulated on WhatsApp, a day in advance. If the CBSE had taken stringent steps to avoid question paper leakage, there would be no issues. Students who felt relieved after the completion of exams will have to prepare for the exam once again.

A student who was disappointed with the re-exam decision expressed that it was easy for the CBSE to issue a notice on conducting re-exam. However, it is difficult for the students to write the exam again. CBSE’s decision will impose unnecessary stress and pressure on students, he added.
