Students Protest Against BCI's Proposal to Shut Evening Law Colleges
All the evening colleges providing legal education are asked to shut down by BCI.
Yesterday i.e. 10th August’ 16, students of law course in the University of Delhi protested in front of the office of BCI which is Bar Council of India. The protest took place because the evening courses of law are requested to shut down. The BCI has asked the University of Delhi popularly known as DU to shut all the evening colleges which provide law course which means the loss of 800 law seats. BCI is the leader and the ultimate decision maker of anything related to legal education in India. This request was made because the council recently collected all the information and found out that the evening colleges under DU are not apt and does not provide quality education.

One of the students among the protesters said that if these colleges are shut down then it will ruin their career because there are no other colleges in India which provide legal education at such less fee. All the institutes in India imparting legal education have a very high fee which everyone cannot afford.

The Vice President of AISA which is the All India Student Association, Kawalpreet Kaur said that it is not fair for the students to suffer because BCI and DU are not getting along. One of the students claimed that the chairman of BCI announced that the seats will not be made legal till DU make necessary changes.
