Students to Attempt Only 50% of Paper for J&K Board Exams 2016

Due to the embroilment in Jammu & Kashmir, it is an established fact that schools & colleges in the state are at the mercy of political & inter-border conditions. Given this circumstance, the education process in the state is also erratic. In this state of events, schools in Jammu & Kashmir are incapable of completing their curriculum on time. As a result, students appearing for Board exams are not prepared fully and have raised demands to postpone annual board exams.

The state authorities have considered this demand and have come to the conclusion that the Board Exams in Jammu & Kashmir will be as per schedule. Instead, they have suggested that students will attempt only 50% of the questions.

Even though already postponed by a month, the exams are scheduled to begin from November 14, 2016. The date has been fixed to save the academic career of the students according to Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), Zahoor Ahmad Chatt.

Standing by the decision to not postpone it to March, as compared to other Indian state boards, Mr. Chatt said that this has been done in purview of giving more time to students to prepare for competitive exams. For smooth conducting of exams, the Board has also made arrangements for security to conduct hassle-free examinations.

Mr. Zahoor Ahmad Chatt has also confirmed redesign of the question papers to provide 50% relaxation to students appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 Board examinations in Jammu & Kashmir.
