A group of researchers based in New York, United States have found the students who have better belongings with their peers, family and acquaintances are less likely to turn into bullies in future.

A periodical publication named Educational and Child Psychology has published the findings recently in a current issue of the journal. The study suggests that the family and the teachers must set up a child-friendly environment and develop better communication with children in both home and school to prevent the child to become a bully in future.

Chad Rose, who is an associate professor at the University of Missouri, United States has stated that they have found the bullying nature among students can be altered by giving them a sense of the supportive nature of their keen people such as teachers and family. This suggests that the small gestures of support, compassion and accepting nature can help to eradicate the bullying nature of the students in schools.

To conduct the study, survey data from as many 900 rural meddle schools of the US have been taken into consideration by the researchers. The survey reports which was made on the behaviour of a student with their family, teachers and school peers were studies to assess his/her sense of belonging with his/her keens. The study reveals that as much they felt the sense of integrity of them belonging to the school environment, the less they showed features of bullying nature.

The report suggests parents for taking a proactive role to provide their children with a friendly environment at the home and make them understand the importance of them belonging to their schools. Increased sense of family belongingness would help in this matter.

Christopher Slaten, who is another faculty of the University of Missouri informed that family interaction and taking active parts in family events help a child to complement his varied interests, even it fails to please the whole bunch every time, it will finally be beneficial for the child.
