SVIMS Signs MoU with RSVP for Collaborative Research and Medical Aid
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences and Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha have entered an MoU. The two institutions will work in collaboration to find new treatment procedures for chronic ailments.
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (abbreviated as SVIMS) entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha (RSVP) on 8th August 2019, Thursday. The two institutions will work in collaboration for developing research programmes and for pursuing joint research projects.
The pact between SVIMS and RSVP enables them both to work together to find effective treatments and healing methods for several chronic diseases that are prevalent among the public. Under the MoU, students of Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha pursuing the course of M.Sc in Yoga Therapy can provide yogic therapeutic treatment to the patients at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences who are suffering from chronic diseases. The patients will get yogic treatment under expert supervision.
The Director of SVIMS, Dr. T S Ravikumar, and the Vice-Chancellor of RSVP, Professor V Muralidhara Sharma initiated the process of signing the Memorandum of Understanding. When the MoU was being signed, Dr. T S Ravikumar and T C Kalawat, the Registrar of SVIMS, represented Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences and the Dean of RSVP, Professor K E Devanathan and Professor Lakshminarayanan represented Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha.
Dr. Ravikumar addressed everyone who was present for the occasion and said that this MoU can help them in demonstrating the evidence of the usefulness of yoga therapy even in the modern context. Yoga will be used to provide the common public with the best care. He further said that patients who are suffering from high blood pressure, chronic lung diseases, joint ailments, diabetes, etc. will benefit from this integrative therapy of modern science and yoga.

This collaboration between SVIMS and RSVP will be a joined effort towards treating some of the chronic diseases of patients. It is a new approach to heal patients through one of India’s oldest spiritual disciplines. It is proven that yoga has innumerable benefits on the human mind and body. Partnering it with modern science and medicine will be a new step taken in the medical field.
