SVIMS Tirupati Signs MoU with SPMVV for Promoting Research
Through this MoU, both the institutes will work together in the areas of research, education and community health.
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) to extend cooperation and support in the areas of research, education and community health. The MoU was signed on the 24th annual day celebrations of SVIMS, which took place on February 26, 2017.
The copies of the pact have been exchanged between Director and Vice-Chancellor of Sri Venkateswara University, Prof. T.S Ravikumar and Prof. V. Durga Bhavani, Vice-Chancellor of SPMVV. Through this MoU, both the institutes will work together in the areas of research, education and community health.

Prof. Bhavani expressed her happiness on associating with SVIMS and assured support for the development of modules. She congratulated the institute for completing 24 years of excellence.
Prof. Ravikumar revealed that SVIMS will get ten centres of excellence. A total number of four excellence centres have been functioning already, which include Institute of Trauma and Emergency Care, Institute of Cancer and Allied Sciences, Institute of Cardiac Sciences and Institute of Renal Sciences. He further added that the reaming six centres of excellence would be launched this year.

He also announced some new projects as a part of the Silver Jubilee Year, which include redesigning the molecular biology building, silver jubilee arch, completion of medical college hospital, hostels and faculty quarters. The institute will also get an innovation centre and a centre for patient safety as well.
On this occasion, prizes and medals were awarded to students, doctors and staff who participated in the academic, sports and cultural competitions.
