Symbiosis Law School Pune wins moot court competition

Symbiosis Law School in Pune secured the first place and Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law in Punjab came second in the Justice Dr B P Saraf National Tax Moot Court Competition, held in Kolkata recently.

Kruti Parasar declared the best speaker from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law in Punjab. The event was organized by West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS) and All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP). Former CJI Altamas Kabir, who handed over the awards, said such events helped students develop their skills. Justice Ashok Ganguly, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, Justice Tapas Mukherjee and Justice Indira Banerjee adjudicated the final round. "Students can apply the moot courts lessons when they actually practice in their life," said Prof Dr P Iswara Bhat, NUJS VC.

Narayan Jain, AIFTP VP, said the focus was on search and seizure under Income Tax Act.
