Mr. Stalin who is the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in his tweet called the Common University Entrance Test as “regressive” because not all the students come from the central board syllabus. He feels that state universities should have the liberty in the admission process rather than making CUET Score as the main criteria for admission. Considering the fact that CUET 2022 will be based on NCERT syllabi, it brings a lot of pressure on the candidates who have studied in the varied state boards. Mr. Stalin request the Prime Minister of India to withdraw the decision to make CUET mandatory for the admissions of central universities along with state, deemed, and private universities.

He stated that any national-level entrance examination that is based on the NCERT syllabus cannot provide an equal opportunity to all the students who have studied various state boards' syllabi. In the opinion of Mr. Stalin, a common centralized examination for admission into universities and colleges will surely become a great disadvantage for the students who come from poor and marginalized societies, as they do not have, as they cannot afford to study in Central Board schools. He stated that the number of students who will be getting admission in Central Universities from the state of Tamil Nadu would be very less.

Even Tamil Nadu has a similar opinion of the NEET examination. Most of the political leaders opposed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. According to them, NEET has denied Tamil Students most of the admissions in medical colleges of Tamil Nadu as they have the only exposure to the syllabus of Tamil Nadu Board of Secondary Examination but not NCERT.  Tamil Nadu government submitted 169 pages report to the high court stating a lot of facts about how NEET does not provide equal opportunity to all the students who come from different state boards.
