The Coronavirus cases have been rising again across the state of Tamil Nadu. To control the situation, the Tamil Nadu Government has planned to implement fresh standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the candidates, who will be appearing for the Board exams.
The candidates are on the verge of last-minute preparation before the Tamil Nadu Board exams 2022. The Directorate of Examinations issued the admit card for the candidates. Though the normalcy in Tamil Nadu has been restored slowly after hitting the third wave, however, a mass of students from IIT-Madras has been down with Coronavirus recently. Before it turns into a severe pandemic again, the government of Tamil Nadu tries to control the situation. In his regard, it sets new rules for safety protocol.
The authorities of the School Education Department already started to review the preparation. It is now compulsory to wear a face mask both for the students and invigilators, informed by the Senior Officer. If anybody will be found with a face mask, then the schools will provide them with the face masks on the behalf of the state govt. In favour of physical social distancing, extra classrooms will be converted into the exam hall. In addition, there will be thermal checking of the students and invigilators.
If the students come with fever, cold or cough syndrome, then they will have to sit in a separate allotted room to complete the exam. As per the recent report, approximately 30 lakhs candidates registered their names for the Tamil Nadu Board exams.
The Tamil Nadu govt also plans to support the schools financially by buying hand sanitisers. If required the students will be distributed zinc and vitamin tablets. The Senior Officer asks to assure the schools that they have enough water facilities and provision of soaps. The same has been instructed to the school management.
Lastly, the schools have to submit a report on SOPs, at least five days before the scheduled exam date. The schools/ exam centres have been informed that the officials might be present there for a surprise visit for inspection.
