Tamil Nadu: Second Phase Counselling for MBBS and BDS from September 21
Currently, a total number of seven MBBS seats are vacant in Government Medical College, and 122 seats are vacant in private colleges.
The second phase of counselling for MBBS and BDS counselling will commence from September 21, 2016. According to the rules of Medical Council of India (MCI), all the medical seats should be filled up by September 30, 2016. The central government mentioned that it is not mandatory to conduct medical admissions based on NEET marks.
The first phase of counselling concluded on September 3, 2016. A total number of 2,785 seats were filled for MBBS, and 78 seats were filled for BDS in Government Dental College.

The second phase of counselling will be conducted to fill up the vacant seats in both government and private colleges. Currently, a total number of seven MBBS seats are vacant in Government Medical College, and 122 seats are vacant in private colleges.
On the other hand, a total number of 12 BDS seats are vacant in Chennai Government Dental College, and 970 seats are vacant in private medical colleges.
Apart from the above mentioned vacant seats, 397 MBBS and 15 BDS seats are reserved under All India Quota. These seats have to be filled based on the NEET score.
