TCS Foundation to Upgrade the Library of IIM-A
TCS would also fund the institute with a sum of Rs. 20 crore. The upgradation of the library will be completed by 2018.
Tata Consultancy Services, a leading global IT Services has signed an agreement with Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad on September 23, 2016. Through this agreement, TCS would upgrade the Vikram Sarabhai Library located at IIM-A’s Louis Khan Plaza. For this purpose, TCS would also fund the institute with a sum of Rs. 20 crores. The upgradation of the library will be completed by 2018.

Through this agreement, the library will be converted into a future ready knowledge hub for digital learning. It is one of the non-profit activities taken up by TCS. Director of IIM-A, Ashish Nanda said that they would upgrade the buildings in terms of infrastructure. He mentioned that most of the classrooms do not have air conditioners yet and hence they will be installed soon.

He stated that the selection committee has finalised three names for the post of a new chairperson for IIM-A’s Board of Governors on September 23, 2016. The names of these three members will be sent to MHRD soon.
CEO of TCS,Mr. Rajesh Gopinathan said that the library will be restored soon and it would become a landmark for knowledge management among academic institutions globally.
