Teachers of KVs & IITs to Launch ‘IIT Pal’, a Lecture Series for JEE Examination
It would benefit the students who cannot afford coaching classes. These students can access video lectures and develop their conceptual knowledge.
Teachers from Kendriya Vidyalayas and Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) have come together to record lectures that will help the students of Class XI and XII to crack Joint Entrance Examination. The lecture series has been named as ‘IIT Pal’. It would benefit the students who cannot afford coaching classes. These students can access video lectures and develop their conceptual knowledge.
Around 200 lectures will be recorded by the teachers which will be telecasted on the national channel by the Human Resource Development Ministry. The lecture subjects include Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry. The telecast of video lectures will commence from January 1, 2017.

Ramgopal Rao, Director of IIT-Delhi, revealed that all students cannot afford coaching classes. Hence, these free classes will benefit the students to prepare for JEE exam. The lecture series comes at a minimal cost and even if ten students from various villages are benefitted from the video lectures; they would consider their initiative successful. He clarified that they are not competing with any coaching institutes while implementing this plan.
Around, 80 percent of the teachers who are engaged in recording video lectures or helping the school teachers with the material are from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. There would be separate lectures on each and every topic and students will have the option to choose the lecture they like. Sanjay Sanghi, Head of Education Technology Centre, IIT-Delhi indicated that most of the students joining undergraduate courses in IITs lack conceptual knowledge and hence the main focus of this initiative would be to help students develop clear concepts.
Teachers are working consistently to make the video lectures interactive.
IIT-Delhi is not planning to increase the students’ intake for undergraduate courses in the coming years as there is no space to accommodate students.
