Technical Workshops for Engineering Students by IBM & Venturesity
IBM and Venturesity have collaboratively introduced workshops on data analytics, mobile app development and cognitive computing.
IBM and Venturesity have collaboratively introduced workshops on data analytics, mobile app development and cognitive computing. The aim of these workshops will be to help engineering students to bridge the skill gap that has been created with the evolution of new technologies.
A total of 24 workshops will be conducted across 8 regions of India. Once the workshops are done with, students will be called to participate in a hackathon where will showcase their skills by developing inventive apps by incorporating the technologies they learned in the workshops.

IBM India’s University Relations team and Venturesity have introduced this initiative in some of the premier technical institutions in India. Registrations for the workshops had started on July 15. Near to 11,800 students have registered for the workshops so far.
Mona Bharadwaj, the Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives, University Relations, IBM India/South Asia, said that the workshops are a means to prepare the students for the competition in the industry and make them proficient in solving the upcoming challenges. The workshops will also be a platform to bring students with hidden talents into the spotlight.
A quiz will be conducted before starting the workshops in order to test the preparedness of the registered students. Many of the students have already cleared this preliminary quiz.
Six of the workshops were organized on August 27 and 28, 2016. More than 1,600 students had participated in these workshops that were led by various experts of the industry.

Various challenges will be conducted at the end of these workshops and the winners will win attractive prizes along with a chance to have their resumes reviewed by IBM India’s recruitment team. This will further assist them in grabbing best jobs in the industry.
