Technology is Important in Revolutionizing Education: IT Minister
IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad while addressing an event on VIVID (Vision Insight and Voice of India Going Digital) suggested that the NIC should tap into India’s growing digital competency.
Information & Technology and Law & Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad recommended the NIC (National Information Center) and its officials to use creative thinking to aid technology in areas like Agriculture, Healthcare and Primary Education. He feels that with the increasing number of mobile users in India, these sectors can gain a massive boost in providing revolutionary and cost-effective solutions to millions.
Shankar said that India’s growing digital efficiency should be used effectively through cheaper yet reliable and efficient technology.

India is home to one of the largest mobile data consumers in the world which ushered in technological developments like BPO’s (Business Process Outsourcing). Digital India is one such initiative which has successfully tapped into the digital expertise of the mobile data consumers in India.
The Minister further suggested that NIC should specifically target smaller cities and towns in India where Agriculture, Healthcare and Primary Education can be linked to digital platforms ensuring best practices at the grass-root level in the country.

The Minister added that cybersecurity is another major aspect on which the NIC should work upon to provide smooth and secured digital experience to the users. Efficient and low-cost security solutions to cyber threats and is important in a vast country like India where a user is under constant threat caused by unsafe cyber practices.
