Telangana Engineering Colleges to Offer Internal Sliding Option
- Candidates can opt for internal sliding during the engineering admission process in Telangana based on TS EAMCET scores.
- Those who opt for it will be eligible for fee reimbursement.
- Admission counseling process for engineering courses will be done by 8th June.
Kadiam Srihari, Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister announced the results of Telangana State Engineering, Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET) 2018 on 19th May 2018 and talked about the possibilities of internal sliding. Students opting forinternal sliding will also be eligible for fee reimbursement from the state government.
The minister further added that the first phase of webcounseling for admissions into engineering programmes will be completed by 8th June. The Telangana state has introduced several measures to maintain 75% attendance in colleges. They have introduced biometric systems to record attendance and are also working towards ensuring required number of laboratories in the colleges.

The main aim of the state government is to work towards improving the engineering education so that they are at par with other engineering colleges of the country. They are also planning to introduce internship programmes and skill development courses for engineering colleges.

Telangana is home to various premier institutions of higher education. The reputed technical education institutes in the state include National Institute of Technology, Warangal, Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS). Apart from the premier institutions, there are various government and private colleges in the state that offer education in the field of engineering and architecture. As per the census of 2011, the overall literacy rate of Telangana is 66.50% and the state is also a hub to many MNCs and national companies of the country.
