Telangana: MSDE to Setup Institutes for Entrepreneurship and Development
Under this scheme, the selected institutes will get a grant of Rs. 9,00,000 for the first five years and additional Rs. 3,00,000 for the development of infrastructure.
Under the National Scheme on Entrepreneurship and Development, two entrepreneurship and development centres, 30 higher learning institutes, five schools and 15 industrial training institutes will be set up in Telangana. A senior official of Union Ministry of Skill Development made the announcement in this regard. The ministry has formulated a new scheme on entrepreneurship and development to create an enabled ecosystem for entrepreneurship development through entrepreneurship education and training.

The target of the scheme is to cover for the education of about 7.10 lakh students in the country through various project institutes such as institutes of higher learning, schools, entrepreneurship development centres, skills development centres and industrial training institutes. The duration of the plan is five years (2016-17 to 2020-21). The last date for the receipt of applications for empanelment of the project institutes is September 26, 2016.
The official mentioned that the project institutes which have an area of 2,500 sqft or higher and can allocate at least two faculty/facilitators in the first year and facilitate additional faculty/facilitator from the second year are eligible for selection.

Apart from the criteria mentioned above, the institutes must also have a broadband connectivity with at least 100 MBPS and possess necessary audio visual equipment. The institutes must enrol an average of 250 students under the project every year.
The central government will provide funds to the selected institutes to set up the infrastructure for delivering the programmes. Under this scheme, the selected institutes will get a grant of Rs. 9,00,000 for the first five years and additional Rs. 3,00,000 for the development of infrastructure.
