Telangana: Notification for Online Admissions for UG Courses Delayed
- Most of the colleges did not submit data regarding the number of seats and courses on time which has further caused delay.
- Autonomous Colleges will not take part in the online admission process and will carry out the admission process independently.
The admission notification for online UG admissions in Telangana will release only in the third week of May. As per the previous schedule, the official notification was expected on May 5, 2017. Now, the official notification might release on May 15 or May 20, 2017.
The government of Telangana started to conduct UG admissions in online mode last year. The online admission process received good response from college managements and students. Therefore, the government decided to proceed with the same process this year also.
Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr. Kadiyam Srihari will convene a meeting with Vice-Chancellors of all the state varsities on May 6, 2017. During the meeting, the Department of Higher Education will confirm the exact date for the release of notification.

However, the State Council for Higher Education clarified that autonomous colleges will not take part in the online admission process, and they can carry out admission process independently. Giving clarification on a hike in tuition fees for UG course, the council revealed that the tuition fees for various UG courses would not have any hike this year.
Most of the college managements are not satisfied with the decision of the government regarding fee hike.

Last year, a total number of 42 colleges did not participate in the admission process. These colleges approached High Court and opted out of the online admission process. The State Council for Higher Education is planning to bring these colleges under the online admission process.
The details relating to the fee structure, number of seats (course wise), number of colleges participating and others will be notified soon.
