THE Rankings 2018: IISc Bangalore among Top 100 Institutes in Engineering & Technology Globally

Indian Institute of Science, (IISc) Bangalore has secured a spot among the top 100 institutes in engineering and technology globally in Times Higher Education (THE) Rankings 2018. The performance of IISc Bangalore indicated that it is the best engineering & technology institute in India. On the other hand, IIT Bombay and IISc Bangalore lost their positions at number 82 and 71 respectively in the rankings. Even though IISc Bangalore was not ranked last year, it was listed at number 89 in engineering and technology category.

Here is the list of top three universities or institutes (Computer Science): -

• Stanford University
• MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology)
• Oxford University

In THE Rankings 2018, the rankings have been expanded to include 300 universities globally, up from 100 last year. Since the ranking authority has lowered the eligibility threshold for the proportion of staff in the subject area, several newcomers have made it to the list this year. The University of Cambridge bagged the fifth rank globally.
