TNEA 2022 Tuition Fee Concession: Check All Details
The Government of Tamil Nadu offers TNEA 2022 Tuition Fee Concession to candidates participating in the counselling process. Know all the details on these concession schemes.
TNEA 2022 general counselling will begin on August 25. The TNEA 2022 Rank List was declared on August 16, 2022. Candidates who meet the eligibility must apply for their desired colleges. The Seat Allocation Process will begin on August 20, 2022, for special categories. With the opening of the TNEA 2022 Admission process, one of the major questions that arise is the tuition fees of the colleges. The Tamil Nadu Government has laid out some schemes for Tuition Fees Concession and fees waiver. Candidates aspiring to take admissions to the Engineering Colleges of Tamil Nadu may utilise these concessions.

TNEA 2022 Tuition Fees Concession: Full Fees Waiver
The State Government of Tamil Nadu allows full fee waiver for the candidates who have passed out of the Government Schools. This scheme was introduced in the GO 221 Higher Education (J2) Dated: 15.11.2021. The candidates will be admitted to the colleges under the 7.5% reservation for the government schools quota. This concession is only available for candidates seeking admission to professional courses. Under this scheme, the state government will bear the entire tuition fees, hostel fees, and counselling fees of the candidates. However, candidates must submit proof of education in government schools from Class 6 to Class 12 in a Government School. Further, the schools that will be considered Government Schools are:
- Government Schools
- Municipal Schools
- Corporation Schools
- Schools Managed by Government Departments
- Forest Department Schools
- Adi Dravida And Tribal Welfare Schools
- Kallar Reclamation Schools
TNEA 2022 Tuition Fees Concession: Concession for First Graduate
This TNEA 2022 Tuition Fees Concession allows the government to provide Tuition Fees Concession to the First Candidate of the family applying for a graduate degree. The state government recognizes this fee concession under the G.O. (st) No. 85 Higher Education (J2) Department dated: 16.04.2010. Candidates must produce certain documentation to avail of the concession. The Digital/e-Certificate by the Head Quarters Deputy Tahsildar includes the details of the candidate’s name, parents' name, name of grandparents from both paternal and maternal sides, and brothers or sisters' name (if any). The admissions must be taken for a professional course in any Government or Government Aided Colleges or Self-Financing Colleges. Further, if the concession is acquired by any one brother or sister before the candidate, they will not be eligible to attain the Fees Concession.

TNEA 2022 Tuition Fees Concession: AICTE TFW Scheme
The AICTE Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) is a scheme offered to the BE/B.Tech candidates only. The scheme applies to self-Financing Colleges and Self-Supporting courses offered in Government Aided Engineering Colleges. Candidates whose family annual income is less than 6 lakhs will be considered under this scheme. Only 5% of the candidates will avail of the AICTE TFW Scheme. This is offered by the Management of the college and only waives the Tuition fees. All other fees must be paid by the candidate himself.
TNEA 2022 Tuition Fees Concession: Scholarship for ST/SC/SCA
The Tamil Nadu Government offers a scholarship to the candidates from ST/SCA/SC category candidates whose annual family income is less than INR 2,50,000. This scholarship will be allotted after the Matric and will be directly given to the colleges to which they are accepted.
