TNEA 2020 Dates
TNEA counselling for B.Tech/ B.Arch admission in Tamil Nadu has commenced with registration on July 15, 2020. DOTE Tamil Nadu is responsible for conducting online counselling for these courses.
Online counselling for engineering courses in Tamilnadu (TNEA) has commenced with online registration on July 15, 2020. Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu is responsible for conducting the counselling process for B.Tech/ B.Arch admission. The online registration for TNEA counselling 2020 will close on August 16, 2020, while the seat allotment may begin after September 17, 2020.

Previously, the online counselling was done by Anna University. However, from the year 2018, Directorate of Technical Education or DOTE is responsible to conduct the online/ centralized counselling for Engineering admission in Tamil Nadu.

Every year, the online engineering counselling for Tamil Nadu student is conducted in the month of June. The 2020 counselling has been delayed due to Covid-19 pandemic. As per the official notification by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), it is also expected that the admission to Engineering colleges will be started in the month of October.

The DOTE officials notified that the experts are prepared for the counselling process and several steps are being taken for an efficient counselling process. Over 500 expertise and staff will be involved in the counselling process. The officials also notified that several new centres have been added to the list and the modified software has the capacity to handle over 2 lakh aspirants for counselling. The counselling process registration has been transferred to the online portal to make the process easy and seamless for the aspirants.
