TNEA General Counselling 2022 Postponed: Know when counselling is expected to begin

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Committee 2022 has postponed the TNEA single window counselling for General category in the Engineering education, which was scheduled to be held on August 25, 2022. The authority made the decision for preventing the seats going vacant for the students, who migrate to the medical colleges post and hence, the counselling is delayed till the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results are out. The authority also added that the TNEA counselling 2022 will be started after two days of the declaration of the NEET 2022 result. 

Since the past few years, especially after the introduction of the NEET exam, Anna University, including seven top engineering colleges, has been vacant. Dozens of candidates exit the engineering colleges once they get seat allotment in MBBS to pursue medicine. On the other hand, the TNEA counselling process is so long that the authority cannot call for a second round to fill the vacant seats of the colleges. 

The Education Minister, Ponmudi also made a new rule for the candidates. They must join the allotted colleges within seven days of the seat allotment during the online TNEA 2022 counselling. The NEET result 2022 is likely to be declared by the end of August 2022. After that the fresh schedule for TNEA counselling 2022 will be made.

TNEA Counselling 2022: Important Instructions

The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu will conduct the TNEA counselling process 2022 in the online mode at the official website. Based on the ranks held by the candidates, the final seat allotment to the engineering colleges will be done by the concerned authority. To participatein the counselling process of TNEA 2022, the candidates should pay the counselling fees. The fee varies from one category to another.
