TS ICET 2021 Update: 7,630+ MBA Seats Vacant After the First Phase of Admission Counselling
A total of 7,636 MBA and MCA seats remained empty after the first phase of seat allocation through the TS ICET (Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test) 2021.
Post the TS ICET 2021 first phase seat allotment released on November 14, a whopping 7,636 MBA & MCA seats were left vacant. Out of these 7,592 seats were vacant in MBA colleges and 44 seats for the MCA colleges in Telangana.
On Sunday, students who took part in the first round of TS ICET 2021 admission counselling got provisional seat allocations. A total of 51,316 candidates passed the TS ICET 2021 entrance exam for MBA & MCA admissions. On the other hand, 22,416 students had their certificates validated, and 21,811 students utilized the web options for their seat allocation in TS ICET 2021 counselling.
According to the Technical Education Department, students were allocated 16,886 MBA seats out of the 24,478 MBA open seats across 262 colleges in the state including government and private universities & colleges. 7592 seats remain unfilled. Similarly, out of 2,367 seats available across 41 colleges in the state, 2,323 MCA seats were allocated. During the counselling process, 28 colleges secured 100% seat allocations.

This year, 485 candidates received provisional allotments through the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) quota, as per the government. After priorities are received from the relevant authorities, the special category seats in the NCC and sports quotas will be allotted in the final round of counselling.
Students who have been assigned provisional seats must self-report online at tsicet.nic.in. They should pay the tuition fee and complete self-reporting before the deadline, which is November 18. If someone fails to pay the tuition amount or self-report online by the deadline, the provisional seat allotment will be cancelled automatically.

In case a candidate wishes to cancel the provisional seat online (on or before the deadline, November 18) after paying the tuition fee, the entire tuition fee will be returned. The website tsicet.nic.in has more information about the forfeiture of tuition payments. Between November 27 & 29, candidates must report in person at their assigned college after the last step of counselling.
