With the aim to Introduce change and modernisation in the examination and education structure in the higher education sector in Telangana, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education proposed changes in the system for the establishment of a full proof evaluation system. There is a committee set up by the Telangana State Council of Higher Education in which the members list consists of Prof. S Ramachandram, Osmania University Vice-Chancellor; Dr. R. Sayanna, Vice-Chancellor of Kakatiya University; Prof. Khaja Althaf Hussain, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University. The committee will observe the existing examinations and their evaluation systems and will prescribe reforms after identifying the issues and drawbacks.

The committee was made on May 2 and a thorough meeting was held with the vice-chancellors of 11 universities of the state in TSCHE. The meeting continued all day long before the council was constituted.

In the meeting, the TSCHE asked all the VCs to conduct an examination and declare the results in an error-free manner followed by providing the photocopies of answer sheets to the students. In the meeting held by TSCHE, Charman T Papi Reddy and Secretary of Education, B Janardhan Reddy were present.

In the meeting, one of the most important directions given to the VCs of the universities was, to ensure that no private college student gets the opportunity to conduct the examination from self-centre. The centre allotment will be done using the jumbling system. To monitor the works of examiners and invigilators, the university officials are directed to install CCTV cameras in centres.

After the meeting was concluded, Prof. Reddy told the media that they have suggested the universities to not have a casual approach towards their work. The guidelines framed for evaluation are directed to be strictly imposed in all universities from which, the VCs were present. There will be legal action taken against the evaluators if any mistake happens regarding their newly implemented evaluation work structure.

To identify the discrepancies in the result, the Universities are directed to develop a software to check the answer scripts. Prof Reddy added that VCs are directed to visit the invigilation process in person while the examinations are being conducted and to do a dry run of the software before the final publishing of the results to assure the software is glitch free.
