TS-PGECET: 40% Opt Out of Web Counselling
This year, around 15,644 candidates qualified the TS-PGECET and of them, only 8,963 students took part in the first phase of web counselling for admissions.
A total of 15,644 candidates qualified Telangana State Post-Graduate Engineering Coomon Entrance Test (TS-PGECET) this year. Out of the 15,644 candidates, 40% opted out of the first phase of web counselling, as a result of which only 8,963 took part in the counselling for admissions into master degree programmes in the field of engineering, architecture and pharmacy.
The candidates had to download their allotment order, their joining letter and fee paid challan from 19th August to 23rd August. The classwork for the students will start on August 26th. As reported, on 29th August, the second phase of web counselling will start.
Under the convener quota, in the counselling, a total of 8694 seats were allotted. These seats included 5469 M.Tech/M.E. students, 3129 M Pharmacy/Pharm (PB) students and 96 students for Masters in Architecture.
Also, in the pool of participating students in the web counselling, a total of 6096 aspirants were allocated seats. This pool had 3977 students for Masters in technology, 2050 students for Masters in Pharmacy and 69 Master of Architecture students.
The candidates who cleared the exam of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering would be given first preference and then the ones who qualified PGECET. The students dropped out of PGECET due to multiple reasons. 1955 students qualified Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, out of which 968 were given PG seats in the field of engineering.

Also a senior has notified the media that some students could not get the seats because they hold a non-local status.
